Washington County has a recycling program in which farmers and commercial applicators can recycle their plastic pesticide containers. All pesticide containers must be triple rinsed in accordance with the label.
When the chemical is sold to the farmer, a .50 deposit is charged for each container. If the customer chooses to return the containers to the Noxious Weed Department, they are issued a check to refund the .50 deposit per container.
The containers are baled at our facility, and stored until during the fall, the bales are picked up by a company, chipped, and used to make plastic products such as: pallets, boards, posts, parking blocks, picnic tables and park benches. |
