The Washington County Museum has a wealth of historic information, catalogued and microfilmed by dedicated volunteers.
What's New: The Washington County Museum has recently moved into a new building at 216 Ballard Street, formerly the Family Research Center. Many people will remember it as the old Happy Hour. There you will find the administrative offices and genealogy research facilities, in addition to the museum annex exhibits. Most touring exhibits will also be found at this building.
To tour the original museum building at 208 Ballard, visitors should first stop at 216 Ballard Street to get a key, and a tour guide if necessary.
The original museum still has all the familiar exhibits, plus the new Pony Express and Trails Room, and the historic camera collection.
The Emmons school is located at the end of the same block. The interior is currently being prepared for summer visitors. The exterior will be an ongoing project as volunteers have time to complete the work.
